Although other people may see beauty pageants for little girls as something petty, it could be a big deal for others especially for the kid contestants themselves. This is because for them, this is one opportunity wherein they could show to the world who they are and what are they made of. Wanting to show what they are capable of is also the same reason why many of them are eaten up by nervousness even before the actual pageant starts.
For organizers, one of the most common problems that could be encountered during beauty pageants for little girls is dealing with nervous contestants. This is because they cannot simply tell the child to calm down and stop crying if she is nervous. The best things to calm children who are nervous before and during the contest would be:
1. Brief them properly before the actual pageant starts. During the briefing, explain to them that their nervousness would hinder them from showing their best during the contest. Explain to them that though being nervous is common, it is best for them to find a way for it not to affect them during the contest.
2. Assure the child that no matter what happens, their families will be there to support them. Knowing that she has people in the crowd who will cheer and support her, the child would realize that there is really nothing much to be nervous about because the people watching her are those people that she already knows.
3. Ask them to bring their “comfort stuff”. Whether it is a stuff toy, their favorite pillow, or anything. “Comfort stuff” will help the child overcome her nervousness come the pageant time. Ask them to bring those always so whenever they feel nervous, they could hold on to it.
4. Give breaks. Some kids get nervous during beauty pageants because they feel that they are exhausted or tired with the routines. To avoid nervousness to enter their systems, give them the breaks they need during the contest so they can breathe and relax for a while.
5. Ask their parents to be near the backstage. During beauty pageants for little girls, the fashion contestants rely on their parents for support. If they know that they can reach their parents anytime they want to during the contest, this will calm them down so they can continue with what they are doing.

Some parents think that beauty pageants for kids only exploit people who dreams of making it big in Hollywood but in truth, these beauty pageants often provide unending benefits to both parents and their daughters.
Here are some of the advantages that you get when you enter your kids into these kinds of competitions.
1. Scholarship prize
Of course, this is one of the most obvious prizes when your child joins these kinds of beauty pageants. Scholarship money is pretty big especially for parents who do not have a trust fund set for their kids. Even if the money will not cover the whole tuition fee in high school or in college, it will still be a huge help to families who need the extra money.
2. Exposure
This is one of the reasons why parents who want their kids to become Hollywood stars join competitions, whether talent searches or beauty pageants. Kids get the exposure that they need to further their careers. Often, talent scouts frequent these competitions in the hope of finding their next big star. Besides, with most talent searches televised, you don’t need to win in order to get the big break. Just look at Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. They never really became the big winners in Star Search but look at them now.
3. Experience
Nothing can take away the kind of experience that kids will get during the competition. They will learn to interact with other kids and get to experience the stress and the politics involved in these kinds of contests. They will also learn a lot on how to project onstage, how to walk and how to answer questions during interviews. They may be kids but they are able to absorb a lot during practice and besides, most pageants have workshops before the actual contest.
4. Develop stage presence
Just knowing how to sing will not wing it in the real world if your child wants to make a career out of it. If they want to become famous, they must have not only talent but also the stage presence to go with it. They get the training for these by joining beauty pageants for little girls and other talent contests. This stage presence, like talent, must be developed. You cannot become a star if you cannot command the stage and get the audience to look at you and only you.

Every little girl across America and even around the world would like to have the kind of life that celebrities enjoy right now- the cars, the parties, the clothes. All that glamour is just hard to resist. One step closer to realizing their dream of superstardom is to join beauty pageants for little girls.
There are actually a lot right now, from small town shows to national competitions. It does not even have to be a pageant. There are also talent competitions, singing contests and dance showdowns. Your child can showcase their talents in these shows. They may not win but the experience will teach them a lot. The exposure can also do them a lot of good. There are in fact a lot of runner-ups and even non-winners who have eventually made it big in Hollywood. Its all about hard work, talent and luck.
Below are some tips for parents when their children are joining these kinds of competitions.
1. Make sure that they have the talent
Even if they are young, losing will have a profound and lasting effect on their psyche, as much as winning can boost their self-esteem. This is why it is important that you only join competitions that you feel your child has a fighting chance in. Do not get into delusions that your child can sing when they can only give mediocre performances. It is best to look for your child’s talent and hone that strength.
2. Take lessons
Just because your kid can sing does not mean that they are great singers. To really rise on the top, she needs to have a voice like no other and she can achieve that by honing her skills and training. Take summer lessons on voice, acting, dancing or whichever skills she wants to develop. Doing this will not only enhance you child’s chances but will also give her the confidence that she needs to make that great performance.
3. Feed your brain
Talent is not everything. You need to have the personality to match if you want to succeed and make it big in Hollywood. You can do this by getting your kids into personality development workshops as well as speech workshops, where they can develop their mind and how they answer questions. This is especially crucial to those who want to join beauty pageants which have rounds where children are judged by the answers that they give onstage.
